Money Saving Tips for Cheaper Travel
Booking online can be brilliant, and there are many deals to be had.
One way that you can save even more money is by using ‘cash back‘ sites. Simply put, cash back sites earn commission from retailers for every sale that they refer to an advertising partner. Instead of keeping this commission, they give some or all of it back to you.
My favourite cashback site is Top Cash Back* which seems to give all of its commission back to you. Other’s like Greasy Palm are good, but often not so generous with their cash back rates.
A quick example:
You want to book a return flight to Beijing.
1) Use a deal finding service like www.cheapflights.co.uk to identify the best deals out there…
2) imagine that the best deal is with Opodo.
3) Create an account with Topcashback*, and using their retailer search bar, find Opodo. Follow the link through to the Opodo website, and you will accrue up to 7% of the total sale made.
4) Wait patiently, because cash back sites can take a while to receive the commission from the advertisers; and then pass the commission on to you.
5) For a decent article and more, visit MoneySavingExpert
*OK, in Martin Lewis style, I am putting an asterisk beside all affiliated links! I think it is only fair to be honest about how this site is funded.
