Sick in Varanasi
At the time, I really didn’t enjoy my time in Varanasi, but with hindsight, it was the one of the most memorable places that we stayed. Because we were there for almost two weeks in the end, and because it was such an intense place, it stands out in my mind.
Varanasi, apparently the oldest living city in the world, is intense, dirty, hot, poor and challenging, yet it has a strange, indescribable beauty, and I will always remember it vividly.

We got to India ten days ago… its been utterly wonderful so far. Poor internet connectivity, combined with apathy for writing in favour of enjoying my surroundings have lead to no proper posts so far.
Since arriving we’ve done Mumbai and Goa, with Hampi to come next, and then into Kerala…
